What is Holiday Happening?

Holiday Happening, the most awaited festive gala hosted by the Junior League of Lubbock. A tradition rooted in community spirit, Holiday Happening is more than just a market—it’s where Lubbock comes alive with the spirit of giving. Each year, the week before Thanksgiving we create a festive marketplace bustling with over 130 merchants, specialty events, and silent auctions at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Mac Davis Lane.  This five-day fiesta isn’t just about welcoming the holiday season; it’s a monumental fundraiser driving impactful community projects forward. By being part of the Holiday Happening, you’re not just celebrating the season; you’re enabling a brighter future for the Lubbock community.

The Junior League of Lubbock is an organization aimed at advancing women’s leadership for community betterment through volunteerism, collaborations, and training. They engage in various community projects targeting childhood hunger, empowering preteen girls, and promoting healthy habits among children. They raise funds annually for community projects and collaborate with other organizations to address pressing issues. Signature projects are initiated based on community needs, and in some cases, they launch these projects as independent organizations, like the Ronald McDonald House.
