Financial Information

The Junior League of Lubbock, Inc. (the organization) is a not-for-profit organization exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Junior League of Lubbock Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. To further this purpose, the League raises money in the community to support its volunteer placements and projects. The primary purpose of the League is not that of a fundraising organization; and as an organization, it should not act as a fundraising agent for others. The League is obligated to dispense all money raised from the community in accordance with the League’s charter purpose.

The League considers an ideal project one which recognizes the following: financial involvement and quality volunteer opportunities. Financial support and projects are not automatically continued but are reviewed annually by the appropriate committee to assure continued interest, quality placement, and financial soundness.
