The League has served as a sponsoring organization of the Community Foundation of West Texas (formerly the Lubbock Area Foundation) since its creation in 1981. The purpose of the Community Foundation of West Texas is to receive and accept funds and property to be administered exclusively for charitable purposes, primarily in and for the benefit of Lubbock and its surrounding area, and its duties include the following:

• Administering for charitable purposes the property donated to the corporation.
• Making distribution for such purposes in accordance with determinations as made by the Board of Directors.

The Community Foundation of West Texas is a tax exempt organization and all contributions will be deductible.

A Funding Information Center is available to non-profit organizations needing assistance in grant seeking. This community service is made possible by funds from the Junior League of Lubbock, Inc.
