Hosted by the Junior League of Lubbock, Holiday Happening is one of the most exciting events in the Lubbock community, ushering in the Christmas season each fall.  Not only is it the first visit of Santa Claus, Holiday Happening offers entertainment and shopping for the whole family. 

But the glitz and glamor of this highlight event is made possible by the dedicated efforts of scores of Junior League volunteers on a mission that is more far-reaching than a fun start to the holidays.  This small band of women put in thousands of volunteer hours each year to hold the Junior League’s largest fundraising event. 

And those funds?  They support the League’s work in the community:  providing the resources to make the Food 2 Kids program possible, to support Hope Lodge, to help teach children about good nutrition, and the list goes on.

Since the first Holiday Happening event was held in 1979, the Junior League of Lubbock has returned more than $4.7 million to the community.
