Women Building Better CommunitiesThe Junior League of Lubbock, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), Inc. reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. Community Spotlight The Junior League of Lubbock, in association with the South Plains Food Bank (SPFB) and Lubbock Independent School District (LISD), has created a Signature Project called Food 2 Kids (F2K) which is modeled after America’s Second Harvest Backpack Program™. Sacks of food will be sent home on Fridays with children identified as being potentially at high risk for suffering from hunger during the weekend. Read more...
